Teaching Reading and Writing in the Malay Language Classroom (MLL205)

Synopsis

This course focuses on the teaching of approaches in developing reading and writing skills amongst students. It will discuss cornerstone theories of intensive and extensive reading to develop language competence and proficiency. In the development of writing abilities key areas in the latest theories on developing writing via genre and scaffolding will be explored. The foci in this course tie in with courses on language teaching through literature.

E-Learning: BLENDED - Learning is done MAINLY online using interactive study materials in Canvas. Students receive guidance and support from online instructors via discussion forums and emails. This is supplemented with SOME face-to-face sessions. If the course has an exam component, This will be administered on-campus.
