Scholarships/Sponsorships

The Irene Tan Liang Kheng Scholarship and Sponsorship for Law aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students in the Bachelor of Laws and Juris Doctor programmes offered by the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).

Who is Eligible?

You should be a Singapore citizen with impressive academic and co-curricular activities records, strong language skills, and demonstrable leadership qualities. New students must separately seek admission to the programme and must be accepted for admission before being considered for the scholarship/sponsorship.

Tenure of Sponsorship

The scholarship/sponsorship is awarded for the minimum period required to complete the Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor programme.

Value of Sponsorship

The scholarship award will cover 100% of the tuition fees (including tuition grant) while the sponsorship award is capped at S$50,000. There is no bond attached to the scholarship/sponsorship.

How to Apply?

Application period: 1 August – 30 September

To apply for the award, you need to submit your application online​ by the stipulated closing date.

For prospective students, you must submit your admission e-application first before submitting your application for the award.

Previously unsuccessful candidates need not re-apply. Only successful candidates shall be notified via email by end November.

The decision of the Student Awards Committee of SUSS is final and binding, and no reasons will be given for the non-selection of unsuccessful candidates. No appeals will be entertained.

SUSS Sponsorships

Committed to the promotion of lifelong learning, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) offers a number Sponsorships in recognition of excellent academic achievements, leadership qualities and special talents and contributions to new and continuing students in the Bachelor of Laws programme.

The SUSS-NTUC Sponsorship scheme aims to provide suitable candidates with the opportunity to enrol in the Bachelor of Laws programme with SUSS and develop skills for life.

Who is Eligible?

The Sponsorship is open to all General Branch and Ordinary Branch NTUC members. You should be a Singapore citizen or Permanent resident with impressive academic and co-curricular activities records, strong language skills, and demonstrable leadership qualities. You must also not already be a degree holder.

New students must meet the admission requirements for the programme of study being applied for at the University. They must separately seek admission to the programme, and must be accepted for admission before being considered for the sponsorship.

Value of Sponsorship

The Sponsorship covers course fees for the entire programme of study, up to the values indicated below:

Application for the SUSS-SAFRA Sponsorship is open to all SAFRA Ordinary A (except NSFs), Ordinary B and Life members. You must have impressive academic and co-curricular activities records, strong language skills and demonstrable leadership qualities. You must also not already be a degree holder.

New students must meet the admission requirements for the programme of study applied for at the University. They must separately seek admission to the programme and must be accepted for admission before being considered for the sponsorship.

Application for the SUSS-HomeTeamNS Sponsorship is open to all HomeTeamNS Ordinary members. You must have impressive academic and co-curricular activities records, strong language skills and demonstrable leadership qualities. You must also not already be a degree holder.

New students must meet the admission requirements for the programme of study applied for at the University. They must separately seek admission to the programme and must be accepted for admission before being considered for the Sponsorship.

The Sponsorship is open to grassroots leaders with People's Association (PA) and/or its associated organisations. You should be a Singapore citizen or Permanent resident with impressive academic and co-curricular activities records, strong language skills, and demonstrable leadership qualities. You must also not already be a degree holder. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions on other eligibility criteria.

New students must meet the admission requirements for the programme of study being applied for at SUSS. They must separately seek admission to the programme, and must be accepted for admission before being considered for the Sponsorship.

New students must meet the admission requirements for the programme of study applied for at the University. They must separately seek admission to the programme and must be accepted for admission before being considered for the Sponsorship.

This Sponsorship provides opportunity for high potential national players to pursue higher education with Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). 

Who is Eligible?

The Sponsorship is open to eligible national players nominated by the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA). Nominated national players must be Singapore citizens who fulfill the selection criteria set by the University and STTA. They must meet the admission requirements for the applied course of study, and must not already be degree holders from a University. 

Tenure of Sponsorship

The Sponsorship is awarded for the period required to complete the full programme of study. There is no bond attached to the sponsorship.

The Sponsorship covers course fees for the entire programme of study, up to the values indicated below:
