Risk Management in Outdoor Education

Risk Management in Outdoor Education (BSE223)

Synopsis

BSE223 Risk Management in Outdoor Education is designed to provide students with the understanding of risk management in outdoor education. Emphasis is placed on understanding risk in terms of a ‘whole-of-organisation’ approach, diverting traditional focus from mere physical danger to anything that may potentially impact on why and how people engage in outdoor activities. Effectiveness of outdoor programmes are evaluated on the bases of the risk involved and the degree in which the programmes achieve organisational goals.
