Social Work Field Seminars – Placement 2 (SWK489)

Synopsis

This is a series of seminars and workshops aimed at preparing students for their second field education placement, as well as to review students’ progress during their placement. This is the second integrative course aimed at reviewing students’ second field education experience in their final year of study. As this is the last integrative course before students graduate, they are expected to raise and discuss more complex or challenging issues in their second field placement, compared to the first integrative course SWK487. Students are also expected to reflect on their two field education experiences, make comparisons and review their learning journeys in these two different placements.

  • Integrate theories of social work practice related to the progress of their field education.
  • Demonstrate key skills set out in the National Social Work Competency Framework.
  • Demonstrate social work values related to cross-cultural practice.
