"Though the Freshmen Onboarding Programme was held online, I was still able to enjoy the various games and activities as it was interactive and engaging! It was nice getting to know some of my course mates.” Our Year 1 Social Work student, Nurul Atikah Binte Mohd Azemi, shared her experience attending the Freshman Onboarding Programme this year.

Our students and staff organised weekly virtual events such as networking sessions and bite-sized workshops from 4 July to 2 October 2020 for the Freshmen Onboarding Programme. These events were open to both freshmen and senior students to encourage networking and interactions across all year levels.

Together with the support of Befrienders (seniors from the same major), the 3-month programme aims to acclimate new students to the university's culture and build relationships with students and staff.

Piloted in 2019, the Freshmen Onboarding Programme is an annual initiative by the Office of Student Life from the SUSS Centre for Experiential Learning. The programme hopes to provide a supportive environment for new full-time students as they embark on their university education journey with SUSS.
