As part of the Singapore Industrial Automation Association’s (SIAA] 40th anniversary, SUSS Voices, the choir subgroup of SUSS Music Interest Group, was invited to perform on 6 October 2023. With the theme of the anniversary revolving around new beginnings and changing generations, the company invited groups from various walks of life to perform. Voices sang a repertoire of both upbeat and soothing songs during the dinner, ending the performance off on a cheerful note with Jonathan Larson’s ‘Seasons of Love’.
Performing at this event was an entirely novel experience for some of our members, and they are immensely grateful for this invaluable opportunity extended by SIAA. The performance unfolded seamlessly, despite having only a few hours for soundchecking prior to the event. With an audience of approximately 300 individuals in a fairly large ballroom, the atmosphere was delightful. It was undeniably one of the grandest and most elegant venues in which SUSS Voices has had the privilege of performing.

Grace Ng, SUSS Voices In-Charge (IC) and a part-time student in Early Childhood Education shared, “For our part, we mainly focused on the songs and liaising with the person in charge of the event so it was manageable. It was a good experience, and we really appreciated the audience members who keenly listened to us and are grateful for the opportunity to be recognised outside of school.”
