Synopsis

Establishing theory to practice links in our curriculum extends beyond making course changes. Making connections between theory and practice ensures our students are offered an education that is not only conceptually rigorous but also meets real-world demands. Having a broader understanding of the programme’s curriculum, industry-relevance, and programme outcomes are needed to enable a programme to fully incorporate theory to practice links. Find out how Psychology revamped their curriculum and assessments to be more applied, with lively discussions on how we overcame obstacles and challenges to achieve some breakthroughs.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
  1. Understand how to incorporate theory to practice links in a programme/course
  2. Appreciate the importance of industry-relevance and buy-in
  3. Apply strategies to incorporate theory to practice links in assessments
