Dear Students
Welcome to SUSS! This is a start of your exciting journey with SUSS - a journey where you will learn, unlearn, relearn, discover, uncover, and rediscover. While you are excited to start this journey, you could also feel anxious about the challenges ahead. How can you be in the driver's seat and achieve success in this learning journey?
First, have clarity of your purpose. Do you merely want to get your degree, or immerse in a full university experience? Do you want to journey alone, or learn together with a network of peers? Do you just want to attend classes, or participate in as many out-of-classroom/overseas experiences? Do you want to live in your own world, or share your world with others to make a positive impact?
Second, be disciplined. Be prepared for classes, manage your time well, and understand your strengths and weaknesses. Practise effective study skills that allow you to learn well and have pride in your own work.
Last but not the least, embody curiosity. As what Mahatma Gandhi says, 'Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever'.
I wish you the very best in making the right choices to create fun, joyful and unforgettable memories as you embark in the SUSS learning journey.
