Synopsis

TSL 508 TESOL Methods provides students with an insight into the methodology of teaching English as a second or foreign language in the Digital Age. Firstly, the course gives students an overview of recent language teaching methods and approaches. Secondly, the course examines different methods of teaching grammar and vocabulary, and the six skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing and representing. Finally, the course considers various methods of assessing the language skills.

Presentation Pattern: EVERY JULY
E-Learning: BLENDED - Learning is done MAINLY online using interactive study materials in Canvas. Students receive guidance and support from online instructors via discussion forums and emails. This is supplemented with SOME face-to-face sessions. If the course has an exam component, this will be administered on-campus.
