In September, the SUSS School of Business (SBIZ) welcomed 16 students and faculty from Chongqing Normal University, Foreign Trade and Business College (FTBC) who were in Singapore for a study tour! The programme started with a welcome ceremony and a campus tour, followed by site visits to various places to gain a better understanding of the evolving logistics sector in Singapore. One of the places they visited was the Singapore City Gallery @ Urban Redevelopment Authority Centre, where the group learnt about the island city’s transformation over the years. The FTBC students were also intrigued by the service spirit at Din Tai Fung during a case study session led by SBIZ’s Dr Yuan Xuchuan. Other places included the PSA Terminals, Supply Chain Asia Forum’s Innovation and Tech Expo at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore Logistics Association and Allied Containers Services Pte Ltd. These site visits offered the participants an opportunity to gain deeper insights into Singapore's logistics sector. The delegates also attended a seminar conducted by Dr Lim Tai Wei, which examined the effects of the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as the Chongqing Connectivity Initiative on trade connectivity and global logistics. The study tour was a reciprocal visit following the MOU signing between SBIZ and FTBC that took place in Chongqing last December.
