The MOE Tertiary Education Research Fund (TRF) supports applied educational research focused on Pre-Employment Training (PET). The TRF aims to promotes effective and innovative teaching and learning practices which have the potential to improve the quality of teaching and learning in PET across all Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) in Singapore. Through the TRF, the Ministry of Education (MOE) empowers IHLs to improve teaching and learning practices actively and continuously for PET based on reliable research and data.
Thematic Focus
The 2024 TRF grant call strongly encourages proposals that address one or more of the following themes:
- Theme 1: Development of Interdisciplinary Education
- Theme 2: Meeting the Needs of a Diverse Range of Learners
- Theme 3: Preparing Students for the Future Workplace
- Theme 4: Leveraging Technology to Enhance and Personalise the Learning Experience
Application Eligibility and Documents
Every year, TRF announces its call for applications to researchers from IHLs. To be eligible to apply, PIs and co-Is must be full-time staff of the IHLs at the time of application, as well as during the entire project duration. TRF funding will not be available for collaborators. Subject to the eligibility of the applicants, TRF allows for joint submission from institutions. Unless expressly allowed by MOE, the funds or any part thereof shall not be channelled to fund research and development activities overseas.
