Synopsis

ECC217 Science and Mathematics Education in Early Childhood prepares early childhood educators to effectively teach science and mathematics to young children. The course enhances students' understanding of the scientific and mathematical concepts that children develop. Through exploring teaching content and strategies, students will improve their ability to design and implement developmentally appropriate scientific and mathematical activities. Emphasis is placed on fostering children’s scientific and mathematical thinking to help them understand the world and solve problems. By nurturing children’s curiosity and learning interest, early science and mathematics education lays a foundation for lifelong learning.
