Synopsis

ECE510 Recent Shifts in Research on Child Development and Early Childhood Curriculum explores how child development research and contemporary views on brain development have influenced early childhood curriculum and pedagogy worldwide, including in Singapore. This understanding helps redefine the concept of ""quality"" in early childhood care and education to meet diverse accountability needs. The course enables participants to reconsider their perception of young children as active thinkers and learners, observe children in their learning process, and understand how adults can facilitate young children's active and experiential learning. It's beneficial for those involved in improving the lives of young children and their families through policies, programs, or projects.
