Synopsis

ELT356 Writing for Children’s Books is a hands-on course that takes students through the creative process of writing a children’s book: from inspiration and research to submitting for publication and book promotion. Along the way, students will learn how to write different types of children’s books including picture books, comics, and chapter books for a variety of age groups. At the same time, they will acquire an in-depth understanding of their intended readership and children’s book publishing trends. This course will also be useful for people who have to write for children, such as museum/park curators, content creators, and others in similar professions.
