Synopsis

EMT317 Events Sustainability equips students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to plan, manage, and report on sustainability in the events industry. Blending theory and practical application, students will learn how to measure the environmental and social impacts of events, drive sustainability initiatives, and create positive event legacies. The course covers how sustainability can reduce costs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and improve overall business performance. Students will also gain insights into crafting compelling sustainability narratives tailored to Singapore's eco-conscious audience, positioning themselves as leaders in sustainable tourism and events. Through the exploration of sustainable procurement practices, strategies, and standards, students will learn to implement sustainability within supply chains, both within their organizations and across suppliers. By the end of the course, students will have a broad understanding of sustainability principles, their roles in implementing sustainable practices, and the skills needed to drive positive change, benefiting both their businesses and the planet.
