Clinical Placement 2

Clinical Placement 2 (PSY504)

Synopsis

PSY504 is an external practicum which provides students with the skills required to embark on their careers as clinical psychologists. Students will use their knowledge and skills acquired from the previous practicum to work with specialised client groups that the external partner organisation is serving. Students will learn about the need for individualised psychological intervention and gain an appreciation for professional challenges of working within organisational resource constraints. Students will also have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to work with various disciplines and manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders. In this course, students will have the opportunity to deliver psychological interventions and/or assessments to support clients and receive supervision and feedback from their on-site supervisors. This course is designed to further develop students’ clinical competencies and allow them to gain real-world experiences to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to clients.
