Research Design and Statistics for Psychology

Research Design and Statistics for Psychology (PSY690)

Synopsis

PSY690 Research Design and Statistics for Psychology is an advanced course aimed at preparing students to design their own research projects and to be able to apply data analysis skills to psychological research. Students will learn about the strengths and limitations of different research designs and approaches, as well as the considerations that go into designing studies aimed at testing various research questions. Additionally, students will learn to apply data analytic skills using statistical software, and students will learn how to draw conclusions from these analyses to address their research questions. A hands-on, applied approach will be taken in this course, and students will have the opportunity to design their own research projects as well as analyse secondary data. A basic foundation in research design and statistics is required prior to taking this course.
