Synopsis

This new course will examine theoretical frameworks and concepts on wellness, adversity, trauma, safety, strengths, resources and resilience, and how these affect clients’ psychosocial functioning across the life span. The content will include trauma -informed care across client populations and agency settings. The course will also delve into how social workers’ resilience at work, coping with burnout, secondary trauma, compassion satisfaction, and self-care can affect professional working with stakeholders/partners on appropriate responses to safeguarding and protection of different populations.
