Introduction to Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a course that provides an overview of generative models and their applications in AI. By the end of the course, participants will be able to understand the concept of AI, Generative AI and their real-world applications. Participants will also learn how to effectively use generative AI models and popular tools such as ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion.

This introductory level course aims to teach adult learners what Generative AI is and how it is used. It also covers Generative AI tools such as MidJourney, OpenAI's ChatGPT and AIVA Technologies.

Ding Bosheng
Bosheng Dingis a researcher and PhD candidate at Alibaba DAMO Academy and Nanyang Technological University, with a focus on deep learning and natural language processing. He completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Bosheng has a deep understanding of Generative AI, including Stable Diffusion and ChatGPT. Bosheng has published multiple papers at top-tier artificial intelligence conferences, and has served as a reviewer for various AI conferences, including EMNLP, ACL, and WSDM. In addition, he is a visiting lecturer on digital marketing at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. Before pursuing his PhD, Bosheng worked as a consultant at PwC Singapore, where he served clients in various large financial institutions across countries such as Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, South Africa, and Australia.
Julia Li
Julia Li has a career spanning over 18 years at Google, where she has gained rich experience in product development and business operations. For the past decade, she has specialized in Machine Learning and Large Language Models, two pivotal areas driving AI innovation.
Julia has been instrumental in developing and implementing cutting-edge AI technologies, revolutionizing digital interactions. Her work has led to significant advancements in applications such as natural language processing, automated decision-making, and predictive analytics.
As an educator, Julia is committed to making AI accessible and engaging for all students. She believes in a hands-on approach to learning, combining theoretical foundations with practical exercises to ensure a comprehensive understanding of AI. Julia aims to inspire and equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an AI-driven world.

Course Fee
1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
- Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
- Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course.
- The course fees are reviewed annually and may be revised. The University reserves the right to adjust the course fees without prior notice.
