The course will be conducted face-to-face with participants who have some experience in handling a project. It will be conducted in a lecture and workshop format to familiarise the participants on the concept of project value and value management. Different project stakeholders view the value of the project differently. The methodology to be taught would enable the participants to understand the aspects of project value and adopt a holistic mindset to appreciate the importance of harnessing a collective shared knowledge of the key project stakeholders’ expectations and requirements of the project and seeking consensus on an agreed set of project values that are aligned with the establishment’s strategic thrusts. The power of the methodology is to engender stakeholder agreement on key shared values that will form the project objectives.

Kim Seng is passionate about advancing Project Management in the Build Environment and Construction Industry. He is currently a PM Trainer and Consultants. Since 2013, he has lectured regularly at SUSS, UON and BCA Academy. In addition, he has given many seminars and talks on Project Management to building and construction professionals and legal professionals.
He has more than 30 years of professional career experience, both as a registered Architect and a Project Director/Manager and MD of PM Link, from 2006 to 2011. In Project Management, he successfully led and managed the development of many large scale and complex public sector projects, including airport terminal, hospitals, university and mega school campuses, conservation building, ministry HQ building and checkpoint complex. He is a strong advocate of Value Management (VM) as an approach in project management, to help owners and project stakeholders collectively arrive at common agreed critical value objectives for the project. Trained as a VM facilitator in 2000, he has initiated and participated in several VM workshops for his projects and, in recent years, even facilitated a few VM workshops.
Kim Seng has contributed to the development and advancement of the PM profession through his involvement with the SPM, leveraging on his industry and PM practice experience. As a council member for close to 15 years, he was involved in several training and knowledge sharing initiatives. Most notable is his leadership in developing and establishing the accreditation scheme for professional Project Managers. The SPM APM Scheme was launched in June 2017.

1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
- Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
