Venture Builder (Non-Profits Track)

Overview

The Venture Builder Programme – Non-Profits Track is an 12-week programme for non-profits organisations (NPOs), including charities and social service agencies.

The programme empowers NPOs to address pressing societal challenges more effectively by fostering collaboration, innovation, and strategic thinking. Work with us to discover the process of testing, developing and launching projects that are impactful and revenue-generating for your organisation.

Programme Features

The SUSS Venture Builder (VB) Programme is an immersive training programme designed to nurture and help the budding entrepreneur within you to launch a successful impact-driven venture. Participants will undergo intensive training and coaching where they will learn essential skills needed to build their own business with confidence and success.

Sponsored & Equity-Free MentorPost-Programme Funding
The VB programme is entirely equity-free and a kickstart funding of S$4,500 is provided by donors to support the impact venture of each participant, upon completion of the deliverables.Each participant will be paired with an experienced mentor who will provide mentorship and guidance, helping you progress from idea stage to initial launch.Access up to S$25,000 equity-free funding. All participants are fast-tracked for the Ngee Ann Kongsi-SUSS Social Impact Grant or LCG NPO Kickstart Fund.
Co-working spaceSocial Impact focused 
VB participants have access to the co-working space in the Venture Builder room at SUSS for the duration of the programme.At SUSS, we guide our startups towards both profitability and purpose. Our goal is to support the development of impactful ventures that achieve a double bottom line.

Programme Fees

There is no course fee.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Open to Singaporeans who are:

  • Individuals nominated by their respective NPOs and supported by NCSS and/or NVPC
  • Able to commit to a duration of 12 weeks

Selection

SUSS will select each applicant based on:

  • Entrepreneurial potential – experience, passion, skillsets, etc
  • Potential and feasibility of the business idea
  • Highly resourceful with good networks
  • Intellectually nimble and an eye for collaborative possibilities
  • Able to tackle challenging situations with finesse and determination
  • Experience as an entrepreneur or in a startup will be an added advantage
  • Passionate to build and grow a business of their own
  • Able to contribute a business idea in any of the following domains: Early Childhood, Gerontology / Elderlies, Psychology / Mental Health, Education Technology, Fintech / Blockchain, E-commerce / Marketing, Social Services, SME Digital Transformation; will be an added advantage

       

      Interviews with shortlisted applicants
      • Only shortlisted applicants will be notified and invited to participate in an online interview.
      • Online interviews will be conducted in 2 batches:
        • First Batch: For applicants who applied by 1 December 2024, interviews will be scheduled from 9-13 December 2024.
        • Second Batch: For applicants who applied by 5 January 2024, interviews will be scheduled from 6-12 January 2025.

      Mrs Lee Choon Guan Enterprising Spirit Fund.

      The Mrs Lee Choon Guan Enterprising Spirit Fund supports programmes which prioritize seniors, enabling them to remain active and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

      Successful applicants will be eligible for $10,000 worth of funding (T&Cs Apply).
