Bloom, a well-being initiative by SUSS Student Life, is back this October! This year, Bloom 2024 seeks to foster a supportive, mindful, and resilient SUSS community focused on positive mental well-being.

With new exciting segments such as the Bloom Photo Gallery and Bloom Lucky Draw, explore the line-up of well-being programmes curated just for you. View the descriptions below for more information!

A range of workshops and activities that aimed to foster a supportive, mindful, and resilient SUSS community focused on positive mental well-being.

Join us at Block A, Level 2, The Atrium on Wednesday, 9 October from 10am to 5pm at the vibrant bazaar dedicated to nurturing your mind, body, and soul. This unique event offers a delightful array of wellness products, artisanal crafts, and wholesome treats, all designed to inspire a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Explore our carefully curated selection of vendors, each passionate about promoting holistic well-being through their creations. Come immerse yourself in a day of positivity, community, and self-care, and discover the simple joys of embracing a healthier, happier you!

The gallery showcases the everday experiences that bring light to our lives, even in the most challenging times. Each photo tells a story of resilience, joy, and the small moments that make a big difference in our mental health.

Through this collection, Production Interest Group (PDIG) aims to highlight the power of visual storytelling in promoting mental well-being and capturing the essence of what it means to find light in every day.

Discover the key differences between mental wellness and mental illness. Gain valuable tools to manage daily life stressors, learn to recognize the signs of poor mental health and take steps to improve your overall well-being.

  • Understand why youths may face higher levels of poor mental health during life transitions

OWLs, in partnership with The Happiness Initiative, offers a workshop aimed at helping participants recognize how their beliefs influence their perceptions of events. This understanding empowers them to shape their emotions and actions, promoting a growth mindset. Participants will get engage in an immersive, interactive game specially designed for this workshop.

Ever wondered how to better manage your well-being in today’s fast-paced world? Join us for an immersive workshop where we explore self-care and well-being through practical and experiential methods, including the use of art as a therapeutic outlet.

In a society where we juggle multiple responsibilities, stress and fatigue can quickly take their toll if not managed properly. This workshop focuses on the importance of taking time for ourselves and understanding well-being in a holistic way. We’ll explore how self-care impacts our mental health and identify early signs that signal the need to pause and refocus on our well-being. Ignoring these signs can lead to burnout, so it’s essential to address them early. Through an interactive experiential exercise, you’ll learn ways to care for your mental well-being.

Mid-semester Check In: Uncover Serious Answers Through Play
Facilitator: The Ubuntu Space

OWLs, in partnership with The Ubuntu Space, guides participants in evaluating their current priorities across various commitments, establishing accountability partners, and offering mutual support. This workshop also helps participants explore what truly matters to them in different areas of life. The session will feature a dynamic blend of methods, including LEGO Serious Play, applied drama-inspired activities, and photo-based stimulus cards.

#MindCheck is an initiative organized by SUSS Our Wellbeing Listeners (OWLs), a group of trained peer supporters who seek to promote positive socio-emotional, physical, and mental well-being on campus. Through this initiative, every SUSS student is invited to nurture their mental well-being in a supportive and engaging environment. This event is designed to elevate your mental health awareness, equip you with helpful strategies, and encourage you to embrace the support that is available to you.

Cultivating a sense of play improves engagement, creativity, and harmony in both personal and professional settings. What type of play resonates with you? What role do you take in playful activities? Learn how to nurture more play in your life - and become more productive and fulfilled because of it!

  • Reconnect with playfulness drive in childhood and consider play in present life
  • Understand the functional value of the playfulness instinct
