71 students made up of mostly freshmen turned up on Zoom on Saturday, 30 Jan to get useful tips on how to develop good study skills.
The workshop was run by the engaging facilitator, Michael Tan who spoke on the 3Rs of Study Strategies, which is to "Read, Remember, Reproduce".
The workshop included tips on the following:
- A survey on learning issues
- The key components of learning
- A proven path in study strategies
There were many quick online quizzes for the participants to take part in and the 90-minute workshop went by quickly. The students asked good questions such as "how to be less distracted when studying" and "how to submit a good assignment when in a group". The exchanges throughout the workshop were lively and informative. There were a couple of positive comments that were seen in the post-event feedback survey, which included, " The session was relevant to working students like me" and "Workshop had interesting content that is very useful and engaging".
Towards the last 10 minutes, Michael rounded up the workshop and did a final round of Q&A with the participants who had a fulfilling Saturday morning.
