The 8th Singapore Early Childhood Education Chinese Symposium, themed “AI in Early Childhood Education: The Evolving Role of Teachers” drew an audience of 210 people8届新加坡学前教育论坛吸引约210位出席者,一同探讨AI 时代学前教师的角色定位与挑战

The 8th Singapore Early Childhood Education Chinese Symposium, themed “AI in Early Childhood Education: The Evolving Role of Teachers” and jointly run by Centre for Chinese Studies and S R Nathan School of Human Development took place at the Lifelong Learning Institute on 28 September 2024 and drew an audience of 210 people.

Associate Professor Calvin Chan, Assistant Provost (Curricular and Student Matters) at SUSS, highlighted in his welcome address that the widespread adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence marked a significant emerging trend. He urged early childhood educators to actively engage with AI to effectively address the challenges of  this evolving landscape.

Associate Professor Calvin Chan and Associate Professor Sin Joo Ee, Head of SUSS’ Master and Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education (Chinese) also launched the second issue of Xin You Yue Bao, which includes research findings and practical insights from early childhood education scholars and practitioners. This journal aims to serve as a platform for learning, sharing, and exchanging ideas among early childhood educators in Singapore.

The symposium featured four keynote speakers who are experts in early childhood education and AI applications. They not only examined the transformations and challenges that early childhood educators face in the AI era, but also presented practical and innovative strategies for integrating AI into early childhood education.

届新加坡学前教育论坛圆满结束

由新加坡社科大学(简称“新社科大”)中华学术中心和纳丹人力发展学院联合举办的第八届新加坡学前教育论坛,以“AI时代学前教师的角色定位与挑战”为主题,于2024年9月28日在终身学习学院圆满结束,吸引了210名与会者。

新社科大助理副校长陈明礼副教授在致欢迎词时指出,生成式人工智能的广泛应用已是不可逆转的趋势,学前教师应积极主动了解AI,迎接新时代的挑战。

在论坛期间,陈副校长与新社科大学前华文教育学士及专业硕士课程主任陈如意副教授共同发布了第二期《新幼跃报》。此电子期刊收录了学前教育研究人员与实践者的研究成果及实践经验,为新加坡学前教育工作者搭建一个学习、分享与交流的平台。

本届论坛还邀请了四位学前教育与人工智能应用领域的专家担任主讲人,除了剖析AI时代学前教师角色的变革与挑战外,他们也分享了将AI融入幼儿教育的创新与实用方法。
