The event was organised with a myriad of engaging activities such as ice-breaker sessions and sharing of experiences by students, offering participants a captivating glimpse into the enchanting world of Finnish culture. Amidst laughter, participants exchanged anecdotes about their backgrounds, courses and experiences in Europe, laying the foundation for an enriching cultural exploration while forging connections through networking.
Participants also dived deeper into Finland’s culture by exploring Europe’s iconic landmarks, notable figures and beautiful landscapes through the guest speaker, Yen Phan who shared her experience living in Finland.
Participants come together to savour 'Pannukakku', a local Finnish dessert, fostering bonds and creating lasting memories.
The highlight of the event was the tasting session, where participants got a chance to taste a Finnish delicacy, known as the 'Pannukakku'. They savoured the delightful creations topped with whipped cream, jam and fruit, immersing themselves in the flavours of Finland.
Participants gather for a group photo, while speaker Yen Phan joins virtually from Finland, bridging distances in their exploration of Finnish heritage.
Yap Wan Ting, SUSS Year 3 Business Analytics student, reflected, “Being able to embrace the beauty of the Finnish culture and a local Finnish dish whilst forming new bonds with others made it worthwhile. Seeing fellow participants filled with laughter and joy made it even more memorable.”
