Battle of the Best: Institute Varsity-Polytechnic Games 2025

117 SUSS student-athletes proudly represented the university at the 2025 Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Games, competing across seven sports and achieving remarkable results, including six medals and numerous other accomplishments. Their dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship truly embodied the SUSS spirit.

SUSS made history as a first-time host for the Football IVP Games, with our 44 footballers delivering an electrifying performance throughout the two-week competition. Facing tough opponents, the team demonstrated grit and determination. "Competing in this IVP with a new coach was not just about winning – it was about building chemistry and learning from every challenge," shared April Tan, a Year 2 Full-Time Finance student and Women’s Team Chairperson. "While the outcome was not what they had hoped for, the experience was invaluable and brought the ladies closer as a team.”

Our Athletics team also made a strong showing, with over 25 members competing in Track and Field and Road Race events. Despite challenging weather conditions, our athletes, both seasoned competitors and newcomers, faced the competition head-on with high spirits. Mohammad Najib Bin Mooiz, a Year 2 Part-Time Sociology student, achieved an outstanding gold medal in the Men’s 10,000 Metre Run Open against 18 other racers! Matthew Lim, a Final Year Human Resource Management student, reflected, “As this would be my last IVP, I am glad to have made good memories with my team and to have walked away with a new personal best.”

We’re excited to support them on their journey and wish them all the best! Go Team SUSS!
