A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by SUSS and the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) on 7 October 2020. Around 160 industry partners, associates, alumni and students turned up for the virtual MoU signing ceremony to witness the exciting chapter of SUSS-IPRS collaboration in student development.
The MoU reflects the mission of both organisations to bring real-life learning opportunities to our students. With this MoU, IPRS will allow our learning community to access the activities and programmes organised by its Student Chapter. It will also provide a channel for our students to network with a wider pool of strategic communication professionals and help them gain first-hand, real-world experiences from the industry partners.
SUSS and IPRS will jointly convene media talks, workshops, industry visits, internships and mentorships for our students. In addition, both parties will explore other ways to share resources, exchange speakers or mentors for various initiatives.
The MoU is in line with the University’s strategic plan as community service projects and industry attachments are part of the key applied learning opportunities that SUSS brings to our students.
In conjunction with the MoU, IPRS has also extended the Complimentary Affiliate Membership (valued at $180) to all SHBS graduating students of 2020.
IPRS launched its Student Chapter in 2012 to generate greater awareness of PR industry among students. It aims to equip its Student Chapter members with PR skills and industry-relevant knowledge.
