SUSS students and their Guizhou University counterparts in an enriching time of learning and networking
Learning knows no bounds – this was what the Cross-Cultural Immersion Interest Group (CCI-IG) understood and put into practice when they recently hosted a vibrant networking session for over 40 Guizhou University students to much fun, laughter and learning!
Fostering a cultural exchange that went beyond boundaries, the networking session was a delight to all exploring the vibrant tapestry of Singapore’s culture. The Guizhou students were particularly fascinated to learn that many aspects of Singlish (the Singaporean English) and our culture were similar to theirs. By sharing famous Singaporean attractions, they also were able to appreciate the places they were about to visit, gaining a deeper understanding and knowledge of Singapore’s landmarks.
“It was a delightful blend of cultural exchange and engaging interactions, making it a memorable experience for all attendees. Looking forward to more networking events like this in the future!” reflected Marshall Poh Wei Meng, SUSS Year 3 part-time Psychology student.
Nadia Nadirah Bte Zaidi, SUSS Year 1 full-time Marketing student, concurred, “I really enjoyed my time during the student exchange with Guizhou students. They were very engaging, and we even shared some similarities! Our conversations were meaningful, and we could relate to one another! It was interesting to learn about their diverse culture and make new friends!”
