The Cross-Cultural Immersion Interest Group (CCI-IG) at SUSS recently hosted a successful networking session with exchange students from Kansai and Kyoto-Sangyo Universities. This event provided a valuable opportunity for students from both Singapore and Japan to connect, learn from each other, and build lasting friendships.
The networking session featured engaging presentations by students from both universities, who shared insights into their cultures and experiences. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in lively discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of each other's perspectives.
To enhance the cultural immersion experience, the event included a tea-time session featuring authentic Japanese snacks generously provided by Japanese professors. This delightful treat allowed participants to savor the flavors of Japan and appreciate the richness of both Singaporean and Japanese cultures.
Donovan Ng Zhancheng, a Year 3 Human Resource Management student, shared his enthusiasm for the event: "The networking session was an uplifting experience that bridged cultures and informed our perspectives. It was a memorable occasion filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful connections."
Tan Xiao Wei, a Year 1 Social Work student, echoed Donovan's sentiments: "The session was deeply insightful as we learned about Japan's current state of affairs from the perspective of Japanese students themselves. The discussion groups were engaging and allowed us to get to know each other better, making meaningful connections."
The CCI-IG networking session was a resounding success, fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendship. This event showcased the power of human connection and the importance of cultural exchange in today's globalized world.
