In July this year, our freshmen experienced the first fully online Orientation on 4 and 11 July 2020, replacing the biannual physical event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite not being able to meet physically, we continued to deliver the Orientation experience online with the help of both academic and administrative staff to connect freshmen to the SUSS family!
Attending orientation briefings from the comfort of their homes, our Deans and Heads of Programme provided recorded messages and live zoom briefings respectively to deliver important pointers for the freshmen. Our freshmen also had the opportunity to attend useful webinars.
For the first time ever, our freshmen experienced the campus grounds virtually through a 360 virtual tour. This is just a prelude to experiencing the physical campus, soon.
It was all fun and games as the freshmen participated in playing the SUSS trivia quiz in Kahoot! with their new-found friends. Congratulations to the 100 freshmen who walked away with prizes!
Our student and alumni volunteers were also present to interact with our freshmen by answering their queries through the WhatsApp chatgroups. Some of our staff were also engaged in live chats so that instant information could be delivered despite not being able to meet face-to-face.
