SUSS graduates from the Class of 2021 celebrated their culminating milestone – the SUSS Convocation – across 24 sessions from 5 to 12 October, adhering to heightened safe management measures. While this ceremony might not have gathered as many graduands and their families and friends in a physical event, it was nevertheless just as meaningful, if not, even more gratifying that they had graduated in spite of troubling times.

With a 250-person cap per session, a grand attendance of 5,063 graduates and guests were present for the ceremony. Even before the physical ceremonies commenced, digital thank-you notes and videos had streamed in to congratulate the Class of 2021 and recognise our graduates and staff’s hard work and resilience in pulling off an extraordinary end to this academic year. Families and friends of our graduands also tuned in to the live-streamed sessions virtually, offering their well-wishes and thoughts.
SUSS President, Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, School Deans, as well as school representatives, took turns to deliver their congratulatory messages to the graduates. This special event also culminated with a melodious postlude music video of the SUSS song, presented by members of the SUSS Music Interest Group.
VIPs such as SUSS Patron, President Halimah Yacob, Education Minister, Mr Chan Chun Sing, and Second Minister for Law, Mr Edwin Tong were also amongst the guests who had graced the event, to join in the celebrations of our graduates’ accomplishments.
This ceremony is definitely one to look back on as it reminds us of the strengths, tenacity and hard work that our graduates, faculty and staff had exemplified throughout these unprecedented times.
