SUSS Collaborates With LTA To Offer Certificate/Minor In Organisational Management

On 10 October 2017, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS); and Mr Lew Yii Der, Group Director (Corporate Planning & Development) at Land Transport Authority (LTA). The ceremony was attended by key officials of SUSS and LTA, including witnesses Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of SUSS; and Mr Ngien Hoon Ping, Chief Executive of LTA.

Under this agreement, SUSS and LTA will jointly develop, promote and conduct certification training by tapping on courses offered by SUSS. The Centre for Continuing and Professional Education at SUSS and LTA have collaborated to identify four mandatory courses for LTA officers to attend: POL 103 (Government and Politics in Singapore), BUS354e (Customer Relationship Management), BUS366 (Lean 6 Sigma) and COM368e (Strategic Communication). The officers will also attend recommended elective modules. Completion of these courses will lead to a Certificate/Minor in Organisational Management. The common goal for both parties is to boost functional competencies of LTA officers in the area of Organisational Management.
