On 28 August 2017, the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) joined hands with the Ministry of Finance (MOF), in collaboration with the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) as a Centre of Excellence for Government Procurement, to boost the training of public officers in Procurement Management.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of SUSS; and Mr Chia Ser Huei, Director (Resource Management), MOF. The ceremony was attended by key officials of SUSS, MOF and DSTA, including witnesses Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of SUSS; Mr Han Neng Hsiu, Deputy Secretary (Development), MOF; and Mr Tan Peng Yam, Chief Executive of DSTA.
Under this agreement, SUSS and MOF, tapping on the expertise from DSTA, will jointly develop, promote and conduct a certification training that leads to a Certificate/Minor in Procurement Management.
