With a common goal to support and promote Social Entrepreneurship among students in Singapore and the region, SUSS and the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 28 March 2022.
The partnership seeks to improve the visibility of the Social Entrepreneurship sector through the formation of a consortium of key stakeholders in the sector. Both parties will work towards increasing the accessibility for local social enterprises to tap on regional networks for growth and expansion, as well as exploring options for co-funding opportunities to better support such impact businesses and startups. Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, highlighted the partnership during his opening address at raiSE’s annual flagship conference, the PurpoSE Agenda, held on 30 March 2022. He shared: “Many SUSS students are in fact working adults who already have some experience. So, they come with experience, skills, but the programme is providing them with deeper immersion – traineeships that involve immersion in education, health and wellness ventures – a range of ventures both here in Singapore as well as the region.” SUSS students and alumni who are keen to build an impact-driven business or startup may sign up for the next Venture Builder Programme intake starting in July!
