SUSS received a pledged gift of S$10,000 from Lighthouse Club (Singapore) – the construction industry charitable society, committed to helping those in need and working to better the condition of the vulnerable – to set up the book prizes in Construction Law and Construction Project Management.
The Lighthouse Club (Singapore) Book Prize in Construction Law and the Lighthouse Club (Singapore) Book Prize in Construction Project Management, of S$1,000 each, will be awarded to the top SUSS student in the respective modules under the Bachelor of Building and Project Management programme. The award recipients will be inducted into Lighthouse Club (Singapore) as student members, providing them with a platform to network with construction industry professionals, and to share and deepen their understanding of the sector, while supporting a charitable cause. These book prizes will be awarded annually commencing this year.
The Bachelor of Building and Project Management programme equips students with a repertoire of specialist knowledge and skills for a productive management of construction projects. Students will be trained in a broad spectrum of competencies including interdisciplinary studies in building design and technology, construction management, international project management, cost management, contract administration, safety management and sustainability.
This programme is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK, and the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers, and is also recognised for the Quantity Surveying discipline by Public Sector Panels of Consultants.
