A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) and SIM University (UniSIM) to jointly offer two aviation degrees; the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance programme (BSAM) and the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration programme (BSABA). On 25 May 2011, ERAU, UniSIM and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) signed another MOU to provide continuing education to the RSAF personnel. As a result of this partnership, SIM University (UniSIM) is the only local university that offers both technical and management programmes in aviation that are held in high regard by the industry.
ERAU is the world's leading aviation and aerospace university based in the United States. Founded in 1925, it is the only accredited, aviation-oriented university in the world. ERAU’s key mission is to provide a comprehensive education to prepare graduates for productive careers with special emphases on the needs of aviation, aerospace, engineering and related fields.
As the only local tertiary institution dedicated to working adults, UniSIM is well-suited to offering degree programmes for RSAF personnel who need to balance work with academic pursuits. RSAF personnel will be able to take advantage of the university's modular and flexible learning approach while obtaining credits for certain courses conducted by the Air Force. Currently, UniSIM already has a broad arrangement with the Singapore Armed Forces, established through an MOU in 2009.
* On 17 March 2017, SIM University (UniSIM) was renamed Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) as part of its re-structuring to become a Singapore autonomous university.
