A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC), on 16 October 2015 cementing the cooperation between employers of paramedics and educational institutions to jointly promote paramedicine skills mastery through training and education.
SUSS collaborates with JIBC to offer a new Minor in Paramedicine and Emergency Response in its Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering programme, which is one of the new programmes in the National Paramedic Training and Education roadmap. This roadmap is in line with the national SkillsFuture movement to provide Singaporeans with opportunities to develop their full potential throughout life. With the inaugural intake of students in July 2015, SUSS became the first educational institution in Singapore to establish a paramedic training programme at the degree level.
