On 21 March 2007, SIM University (UniSIM) and SPSS (now known as Sift Analytics Group) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU provides for the collaboration between the two parties in the BSc Business Analytics. This programme was a first in Singapore as well as in the region.The MOU provides for the following:SPSS sponsorship of the SPSS awards for the top 3 graduates in the programmePricing discounts on software licenses.Sponsorships of events such as the annual Analytics Education Forum that is a platform for students to present their Business Analytics Applied Project in a public forumSPSS provision of training material, personnel and consultants towards the development of the course material in the programmeAs a result of this MOU, our graduates are proficient and well-versed in the use of the IBM SPSS Modeler, which is a commercial data mining software that is widely used in industry. With such skills, employers will find that our graduates are able to meet their growing demand for skilled business analytics professionals to perform data mining and data analysis.
