Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management (GCPM) is for aspiring in-service and career transition personnel who wish to take up managerial and leadership roles in the built environment sector and lead the industry in this transformative era. Courses encompasses both technical (sustainability, design for manufacture and assembly, productivity, and integrated digital delivery) and managerial (project, risk, finance) aspects of the Built Environment sector. The programme is stackable and modular thereby providing busy working adults with flexibility should they be unable to commit a long period of time to obtain a full graduate qualification.

Students from the Graduate Certificate in Project Management (GCPM) can proceed to take the Graduate Diploma in Project Management (GDPM). Once students completed the GDPM, they may choose to proceed to either the Master of Management (MMGT-PM) or Master of Built Environment (MBE-SPE).

Programme Structure

Each course is 5 credit units (cu) and be taken on a stand-alone basis. Upon successful completion of 15 cu of coursework with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5, the CGPM will be awarded. GCPM graduates can opt to complete another 15 cu to qualify for the Graduate Diploma in Project Management (GDPM).
The GCPM programme is for aspiring graduates and practitioners who want to take up managerial and leadership roles in the built environment sector, particularly the construction industry.

Some of the modular courses can qualify for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points to fulfil accreditation requirements for the Society of Project Managers (SPM), Singapore Contractors Association Limited (SCAL), Professional Engineer Board (PEB) and Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (SISV).
Graduates from the Graduate Certificate in Project Management (GCPM) programme will be recognised by industry partners.
  1. What is the minimum and maximum candidature of the programme?
    The minimum and maximum candidature of the programme is 6 months and 12 months, respectively.

  2. What is the graduation requirement?
    Students have to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in their coursework as part of the fulfillment of the graduate certificate programme.

  3. How many intakes are there in a year?
    There are 2 intakes a year; every January and July.

  4. When are classes conducted?
    Lessons are scheduled on weekdays evenings from 7pm to 10pm and some Saturday.

  5. What are the assessment components in each course?
    It consists of a mixture of quiz, participation, tutor-marked assignments, group-based assignments and either Written Examination/Timed Online Assignment (TOA) or End of Course Assessments (ECA).

  6. Instead of signing up for a Graduate Certificate programme, can I just register for one course?
    Applicants may continue to sign up for modular courses as CET by submitting an application via the CET application portal. Upon successful completion of and attainment of the minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 for the required modular courses, eligible CET students may apply for the graduate certificate.   7. What happens if I do not complete the graduate programmes (e.g. Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master) within the candidature period? Can i apply to take the remaining courses via CET pathway?
    Students who have not completed their graduate programmes within the stipulated candidature period will not be eligible for the award of the qualification for such graduate programmes. Such students however may apply to take, via the CET pathway, the remaining courses which they did not complete under their graduate programmes as part of their personal learning and development . Such application will be subjected to the CET admission requirement. However, as such students have exceeded the candidature period for their graduate programmes, they will not be awarded the qualification for such graduate programmes even after taking and completing the remaining courses via the CET pathway (“Condition”).
