Overview of SUSS Master of Management

The Master of Management programme aims to prepare business executives with the skills and knowledge to contribute to the effective management of organisations. The programme equips learners with 21st century skills and knowledge such as problem-solving, critical thinking, digital literacy, communication skills, as well as leadership capabilities, while ensuring that the need for sustainability, social responsibility and ethical practices are met.


The curriculum builds on the core foundation of business management. By embracing complementarities and knowledge exchange with other emerging disciplines and fields, students can gain a deeper perspective of the best practices in a specialisation of their choice, depending on their career lifecycle and evolution. .

Overview of FHNW Master of Science in International Management

The Master of Science in International Management programme is designed for students who are pursuing an international career in a corporation, non-profit organisation or public administration. The local and international elective modules offered in the programme allow students to customise an individual study portfolio. Students will also gain international experience through a variety of real-world applied learning trips.

Admission Requirements

  • A recognised Bachelor's degree in disciplines such as business, management, economics, engineering management, business information systems/technology, finance, tourism, psychology or in a similar or related programme
  • Good linguistic abilities in English
    • Please submit your English score obtained within the last 2 years at point of application if your undergraduate degree is not awarded by an English-medium university, or your undergraduate degree is awarded by an English-medium university but the language of instruction was not in English.
    • At least an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5, or a TOEFL score of 580 (paper-based) or 85 (internet-based), or a PTE Academic score of 58, or C1 Advanced score of 180.
  • Relevant work experience
  • Applicants with social outreach or volunteering experience have an added advantage

The number of places for this programme is limited. Shortlisted applicants are required to undergo two rounds of interviews and take some written admission tests.

All applications are considered individually based on merit, and the offer of admission is dependent on the number of places available in the individual programmes. Admission is solely at the discretion of SUSS and the decision is final and binding. SUSS reserves the right to refuse admission and is not obliged to offer an explanation for the non-admission of unsuccessful candidates.

This programme is open to Singapore citizens, permanent residents, as well as international students.

  1. How many intakes are there in a year for the SUSS Master of Management + FHNW Master of Science in International Management programme?
    There are two intakes per year that take place in January and July.

  2. How long does it take to complete the SUSS Master of Management + FHNW Master of Science in International Management programme?
  3. The minimum duration is 3 semesters (18 months) while the maximum is 8 semesters (four years).

  4. Is GMAT or GRE required for admission?
  5. No, GMAT or GRE score is not required for admission to the SUSS Master of Management + FHNW Master of Science in International Management programme.

  6. Is an interview required for admission?
  7. Shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo two interviews conducted by both universities. In addition, the applicant needs to prepare a 1,000-word letter of motivation.

  8. What are the assessment components for each course?
  9. The assessment comprises a mixture of pre-course quizzes, class participation, online discussion boards, individual assignments, group-based assignments, and examinations/end-of-course assessments. Students will need to achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.0 (i.e., 60/100) to be awarded SUSS Master of Management + FHNW Master of Science in International Management.

  10. When are the lessons scheduled?
  11. At SUSS, classes are generally conducted on weekday evenings from 7pm to 10pm or weekends.

    At FHNW, classes are generally conducted on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

    Core modules are taught on Fridays between 8:15am and 12:00noon, or 1:15pm and 5pm over a minimum of 12 weeks.

    Elective modules are taught on Thursdays or Saturdays from 8:15am to 5pm (lunch time is between 12noon and 1pm) for 6 weeks.

    Collaborative/joint modules with global universities or inter-schools within FHNW can take place on any day of the week and with an unusual scheduling depending on the collaborative partners’ time zone.

    There may be one-week intensive modules abroad which students can opt to take as an elective course. These modules will be conducted full-day daily over the one-week duration.

  12. Am I required to attend classes during the day on weekdays?
  13. Yes, at SUSS, only international students working on MGT599 Management Consulting Project will need to come back to campus on weekdays (daytime), to complete their 10-cu project.

    In addition, international students should schedule meetings with their project supervisor and conduct their research work for MGT599 Management Consulting Project in the day (i.e., during office hours).

    International students will be able to take MGT599 Management Consulting Project via unrestricted electives under the Specialisation track.

    International students must fulfil the daytime classes criteria. This rule will not apply for non-international students.

  14. Are there any attendance requirements?
  15. We encourage students to attend all the face-to-face seminars/course to maximise their learning as well as to receive in-class participation marks.

    At FHNW, most classes require face-to-face attendance and participation. There will be graded tasks during the classes.

  16. Can I apply for course exemption and recognition?
  17. Yes, credit recognition may be granted to applicants for courses completed in SUSS. Credit recognition shall follow SUSS's policy.

    No credit recognition will be granted for courses completed in other institutions or organisations.

  18. I am working full time. Will I be able to enrol in the programme?
  19. Yes, the SUSS part of the programme cater to full-time working professionals. However, to fulfil the one semester at FHNW, students will need to apply for leave to study in Switzerland as a full-time student.

  20. If I am an international student, do I need to apply for visa to come to Singapore?
  21. The university will provide the necessary information to facilitate the application of student pass. For more information, please click here.

  22. What happens if I do not complete the graduate programmes (e.g. Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master) within the candidature period? Can I apply to take the remaining courses via CET pathway?
    Students who have not completed their graduate programmes within the stipulated candidature period will not be eligible for the award of the qualification for such graduate programmes. Such students however may apply to take, via the CET pathway, the remaining courses which they did not complete under their graduate programmes as part of their personal learning and development . Such application will be subjected to the CET admission requirement. However, as such students have exceeded the candidature period for their graduate programmes, they will not be awarded the qualification for such graduate programmes even after taking and completing the remaining courses via the CET pathway (“Condition”).
