SUSS Giving Day 2024 Raised an Impressive $560,000

The SUSS Giving Day 2024, themed "Better Together," united the SUSS family in support of causes such as mental health, education, and sports for underserved communities. Through fundraising challenges, workshops, and awareness campaigns, participants were empowered to make a meaningful impact, highlighting the power of collective action in driving social change. The SUSS Giving Day Wrap Party was organised to celebrate its conclusion alongside the National Day Observance Ceremony.

The ceremony kicked off with a heartfelt rendition of "We Will Get There" by the SUSS Music Interest Group Choir, followed by the National Anthem and the Pledge, led by SUSS student, Rajiv Java

After the National Day segment, the spotlight shifted to the Giving Day Wrap Party, where SUSS President, Professor Tan Tai Yong delivered opening remarks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the SUSS community for their contributions to the university’s third annual Giving Day campaign. He celebrated the success of initiatives like the Better Together Challenge, which raised $60,000 through 24 engaging challenges and the Charity Golf event, which added a remarkable $500,000 to the total. In all, Giving Day 2024 garnered 858 donations, raising an impressive $560,000.

The atmosphere was amplified by a lively and diverse lineup of student performances, starting with a patriotic number by the SUSS Music Interest Group Choir, followed by an energizing dance by Dance(x) KDC and a captivating set by the student band Alpha Vibez.

Dr Eunice Tan Meng Yin, Head of the Special Education Programme at SUSS S R Nathan School of Human Development and a dedicated Better Together Challenger since 2022, "It’s a way of giving back to the community and walking the talk in helping and uplifting others. Seeing that I may have made a positive difference in people's lives is rewarding. The enthusiasm and camaraderie among colleagues during this event were heartening, and I hope to see more events like this, reaching a larger audience."
